St John’s Regional College offers year 9 students a new opportunity to reach their full potential and have the knowledge and skills they require to be successful in the ever-changing work environment of the 21st Century. The College Cafe will place an emphasis on students making connections between their learning and the real world.

The College Cafe seeks to engage, challenge and prepare students for senior school and adult life. It has been introduced (as a response to the need) to accommodate the shifting requirements of the Year 9 Students. The program structure will see each Year 9 student experience the College Cafe program for a two-week period during the school year through which they will receive a Certificate of Food Handling . During that two week period, students will stay connected with their academic programs by attending homeroom and period 1 and 6 each day while their teachers tailor their program to maintain their academic progress.

Within the program, students will be able to learn how to use the various resources for food production within the Graduates Restaurant, 5 Loaves Patisserie and the College Cafe.
