At St John’s Regional College ICT (Information and Communication Technology) is considered to be a fundamental component of learning and teaching.
The use of new and emerging technologies is integrated into the practice of teachers via the establishment of a professional learning community where collaboration is valued to enable the sharing of innovative ideas and contemporary pedagogical practice. This practice aims to facilitate student learning so that students become confident and discerning users of technology with a clear understanding of the role of technology within the local and global learning communities. We will provide students with shared eLearning experiences which encompass essential ICT skills and attitudes that embody Gospel values and the Catholic ethos.
The current Year 7 device, HP ProBook 11 EE X360 G3 11.6 inch HD Touch Screen, Pen and Bag is valued at $800.
Ownership of the laptop will transfer to the student and family at the end of the 2023 school year upon payment of an annual laptop fee of $250 during the 2022 & 2023 school year. Note: the laptop fee will be incorporated into the school fees for 2022 & 2023

The individual use of laptops in the junior years is a way to empower students to maximise their full potential and to prepare them for further study and the workplace. Learning results from the continuous dynamic interaction among students, educators, parents/guardians and the extended community. Technology immersion does not diminish the vital role of the teacher. To the contrary, it transforms the teacher from a director of learning to a facilitator of learning. Effective teaching and learning integrates technology into the curriculum any time, any place.
SEQTA is an all-in-one collaborative teaching and learning management system. SEQTA Engage gives parents access to their child’s timetables, homework tasks, due dates and upcoming assessment dates.
Teachers have the ability to regularly communicate students’ progress throughout the year through continuous online reporting. Student reports are uploaded to SEQTA at the end of each semester and parents can access current results and past reports at any time.
Students have access to the SEQTA Engage partner program, SEQTA Learn. This site contains course materials, timetables, upcoming events and tasks, as well as the assessments and reports that parents can see.
