A warm and sincere welcome to our newest students and their families.

OPENING ASSEMBLY

Our Opening Assembly on Thursday was a joyful and meaningful celebration that set a strong foundation for the year ahead, bringing together students, staff, and families in a shared sense of purpose and community.

The assembly began with a procession of our Year 7 students, proudly accompanied by Student Leaders and House Leaders. This symbolic welcome marked the beginning of their journey at the College and reflected the spirit of leadership and belonging that defines our community. Beautiful choir performances enriched the celebration, creating moments of reflection and inspiration throughout the assembly. A blessing of Student Leadership badges followed, acknowledging the responsibility entrusted to our leaders and affirming their commitment to serve with integrity and compassion.

A candle ceremony highlighted the importance of student leadership, reminding us that our young people are called to be the light of Christ in the world. This powerful moment reinforced our shared values and the role each student plays in shaping a hopeful and faith-filled community. We also warmly welcomed and inducted new staff members, offering a blessing as they began their professional journey with us. Their presence further strengthened our learning community and our shared commitment to excellence in education.

Academic excellence was celebrated as we acknowledged the VCE Class of 2025 High Achievers and Subject Dux Award recipients. Their dedication and perseverance were recognised as outstanding examples of effort, resilience, and aspiration.

The assembly concluded with a motivational address from alumnus Warrick Cramer, Class of 1990. Warrick shared insights from his distinguished career as an executive advisor, innovator, and leader across start-ups, global corporates, and international markets. He reflected on his time at the College and encouraged students to embrace curiosity, adaptability, and leadership. Warrick has held senior leadership roles, including serving as Vice President of Innovation Strategy at Kyndryl and as CEO of Vodafone’s global innovation centre, Tomorrow Street. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland Business School, a Non-Executive Director of Advance.org, and a graduate of Monash University. His address was both inspiring and affirming, leaving students confident and purposeful in pursuing their goals.

The Opening Assembly was a meaningful celebration of faith, leadership, achievement, and community, setting a positive and aspirational tone for the year ahead.
